Aero India-2007 in the southern city of Bangalore, which will last until February 11, is expected to be the largest aerospace show in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years.
"Russian pilots will perform new aerobatic stunts, and visitors can take part in a contest to name three of the maneuvers. A flight on board a MiG-29 [Fulcrum] and a trip to Russia will be the prize," a MiG aircraft-building corporation spokesperson said.
The air show will feature the MiG-35 jet fighter, which Russia is presenting in a bid for a $4 billion tender for 126 light fighters to be supplied to the Indian Air Force.
The MiG-35, an export version of the MiG-29M OVT (Fulcrum F), is a highly maneuverable air superiority fighter, which was shown for the first time in August 2005 during the MAKS Air Show outside Moscow. It will compete with U.S., Swedish and French jet fighters in the Indian tender.
